Dr. Jerisa Johnson DO
"Part of feeling good about your health is knowing that you have a medical clinic that you can depend on. I've been a patient before. I've had surgery before. We know how a patient wants to feel when seeking health care treatment and seek to provide that for Vital Care patients."
Dr. Jerisa was born in Augusta, Georgia and has received education throughout the United States. She graduated with Honors from Howard University and went on to complete a Post Baccalaureate Program at UCSD School of Medicine.
She graduated from New York Osteopathic Medicine after rotating at many New York and New Jersey area hospitals and was accepted into a rigorous, combined/dual medical residency program to include Family Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. She is board certified in Emergency Medicine and her training included intense rotations at several hospitals and clinics around Chicago and northwest Indiana.
Since graduating a combined residency program, Dr. Jerisa actively worked as an Emergency Room Attending in both Illinois and Indiana and consistently received high accolades from the patients she treats and staff members. Presently, because Emergency Medicine is her passion, she continues to provide emergency care to patients in Southern Florida area hospitals.
While still a resident in medical training, she authored her first motivational self-help book to encourage people going through various difficult situations as they seek to reach their dream. Additionally, she prides herself in educating the community at large, especially youth and women, that nothing is impossible and continues to write and speak in order to inspire and uplift.
